Gingerbread

GREDIENTS

    • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1 cup molasses
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
    • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
    • 2 large eggs
    • Powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Use large square baking pan.
    2. Sift all purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, baking soda and ground nutmeg into medium bowl. Combine molasses, sugar, melted butter, buttermilk and eggs in large bowl; whisk to blend. Whisk in dry ingredients. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
    3. Bake cake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cook cake completely in pan on rack. Sift powdered sugar over cake.
